ABOUT THE CHARTS
ARIA Charts
The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The charts record the highest-selling songs and albums of various genres in Australia based on data collected from a combination of physical and digital retailers as well as music-streaming services. The weekly ARIA Charts are released on Apple Music and Spotify every Saturday at 5 p.m. AEST.

The Billboard charts are regional and international charts that record sales, streams, and airplay to rank the popularity of songs, albums, and artists on a weekly basis (monitored on a Friday-to-Thursday cycle). There are many different charts dedicated to various categories, genres, and regions; and the sales from the United States contribute considerably to these charts.
Billboard also has a chart quite unrelated to music consumption, titled as the Social 50 chart, which ranks the artists with the most engagements on social networking sites; an artist’s popularity is determined by a formula blending their weekly addition of friends, fans, and followers along with their artist page views and weekly song play, measured by Next Big Sound.

The Gaon Music Chart is a South Korean music chart that is split into Gaon Album Chart and Gaon Digital Chart. The Gaon Album Chart records physical album shipments, which are the numbers of copies shipped to stores (both domestically and abroad) excluding the returns. As a result, the numbers on the Gaon Album Chart will usually appear higher than those on other charts. The Gaon Digital Chart ranks the best-selling digital music sales, combining downloads, streaming, and background music (a mode of musical performance in which the music is not intended to be a primary focus of potential listeners).

The HANTEO Chart is a South Korean music chart designed to rank real-time physical album sales, recording information obtained from a selected number of Hanteo-certified stores that report their sales for each artist on a daily basis. It does not reflect total sales but gives a general idea of how an album is performing; as a result, the numbers from the HANTEO Chart will not be as high as those on other charts.
